Ryan Howard
"I've been eating Temptation for years now and don't think I'll ever get tired of it... it's that good".
Ryan is a product developer at heart and has a degree in Food Process Engineering from Purdue University. He is happy that the United States is warming up to the idea of health foods and hopes they're ready for Temptation.
When he isn't developing new products or running the day to day of the business, Ryan skateboards, rock climbs, and enjoys spending time with his wife Mary, and son Jude. He's grown pretty sick of his animal-housemates and has become quite reluctant to foster ("reluctant", but usually fostering anyways). He's much more a fan of animals that know how to use and flush the bathroom toilet.
"Quality in the health foods industry is incredibly important. The general public would be more interested in healthy foods if they all tasted great... and one of my personal goals is to see this happen. Smart people will always choose the healthier and cruelty-free version of a food IF it tastes great... and that's where we come in."

Dan Ziegler
"Unless you're working for yourself, you often have to compromise your beliefs, or promote products you just don't care about. When Ryan started to make noise about starting a business, I knew it would be a project that I could believe in. When he approached me and said he could use an extra set of hands and a golden check book, I knew this might be my shot at what I've always wanted: a business that I could help create, and one where I wouldn't have to compromise any of my beliefs or values. Starting an environmentally and socially responsible company that produces cruelty free products is truly a dream come true. This is a committment for life that I and everyone else can believe in."
When Dan isn't working for We Love Soy, he spends time with his wife (er, roommate) and three cats. Dan is founder and only team member of the Vegan Extreme Team. He also enjoys crashing, breaking bones, rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, backpacking, and jogging. For the Vegan Extreme Team, he PLANS to climb Devils Tower and run the Chicago Marathon this year... again. Because he's crazy. But training for something doesn't mean he's going to do it. And he likes girls.

Steven Wade
Airline pilot by day, Chicago Soydairyman day and night. Steven is a long time vegan that believes that a successful company is measured by it's ethics before it's balance sheet. "Aside from being able to market superior products made in a responsible manner, the thing that most drew me towards the Chicago Soydairy was the do-it-yourself nature of the business. Essentially what we are dealing with is a group of people that built their professional lives in a manner that reflects their ethics. That's a very exciting concept to me, and not unlike the hardcore music scene which i came up in. Instead of starting a band or a fanzine, it was a vegan company. The scale might be a bit different, but the DIY ethic is definitely the same."
Steven obsesses over: riding bikes, taking photographs, mid-century modern furniture, Apple Computers, geometric san-serif typefaces, the Chicago Cubs and as always, the straight edge.

Dan Reed
"I believe strongly in the power of natural foods, social responsibility, health & wellness and well crafted dairy alternatives." Dan joined Chicago Soydairy at the start of 2008 after having met Ryan Howard at a mutual friends wedding a few years before. From the moment they bonded over Nitro, vegan cake and coffee (and several heart palpitations) he knew that CSD was something he needed to be a part of. "From my younger days as a DIY punk promoter and magazine publisher to my more recent days as a technologist and in management I'm very happy to have found my way to Chicago Soydairy. Midwest Pride!"

J Johnson
J is the backbone of our operations. Without him, frankly, we're pretty lost. He's an amazing person and was recently promoted to the position of "Director of Chicago Soydairy Public and Animal Affairs". AND, he makes amazing vegan ice cream and Teese!
